Donald Trump said he had “a very good meeting” with the chief executives of the country’s largest defence companies about munitions production.

“They have agreed to quadruple Production of the ‘Exquisite Class’ Weaponry”, the US president wrote on social media on Friday. “We want to reach, as rapidly as possible, the highest levels of quantity.”

Present at the meeting were the CEOs of BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Missile Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon, which is part of RTX. He said they would meet again in two months.

Trump also said the US would increase orders of “Medium and Upper Medium Grade Munitions”, despite describing their supply as “virtually unlimited”.
