‘Boyfriend On Demand’ Ending Explained, Will ‘Seo Mi-Rae’ Choose ‘Park’ Over Virtual World Partners?

Boyfriend on Demand, the newly released romantic K-drama, is hogging the limelight for its engaging storyline and performances. Ever since the series was released on the OTT giant, Netflix, K-drama fans haven’t stopped talking about it. However, it was the sizzling chemistry between Blackpink member, Jisoo and Seo In-guk that stole the spotlight. For the unversed, the romantic K-drama was released on March 6, 2026. Now that the series has created a buzz on social media, let’s find out what happens in the end.

Plotline of Boyfriend on Demand

The story of the Netflix series, Boyfriend on Demand, revolves around ‘Seo Mi-rae’ (played by Jisoo). She is a webtoon producer and is exhausted with her over-demanding career and its hectic schedule. On her personal front, ‘Seo Mi-rae’ is unlucky in love and is tired of real-life dating. Thus, to find an ideal partner in her life, she signs up for a futuristic subscription service that lets users experience virtual-world romance.

After entering the fantasy world, ‘Seo Mi-rae’ meets various dates from charming gentlemen to mysterious figures, and each of them seems just perfect. In fact, their flawless personality fits every well with every criterion that ‘Seo Mi-rae’ has dreamed of. Meanwhile, in real-life, ‘Seo Mi-rae’ meets her rival, ‘Park Kyeong-nam’ (played by Seo In-guk). Although the duo began on a bad note, as time passed, their rivalry turned into slow-burn romance filled with genuine connection and emotional depth.

Will ‘Seo Mi-rae’ end up choosing her virtual partner, ‘Eun Ho’? (Spoilers alert)

In the virtual world, ‘Seo Mi-rae’ found many dates. However, it was an architecture student, ‘Eun Ho’ (played by Seo Kang-joon), with whom ‘Seo Mi-rae’ began to connect on a serious note. Although their journey was not smooth, the duo eventually connected. Something unusual happens in the real world when ‘Seo Mi-rae’ receives a call from ‘Eun Ho’. However, she finds out that according to the platform guidelines, paid subscribers can call or message outside the fantasy world. From here on, they start talking with each other. Meanwhile, ‘Park Kyeong-nam’ confessed his feelings to her. However, she rejects him, saying that she has a boyfriend. Soon, she finds out that ‘Eun Ho’ is not serious about her and behaves the same way with other female users on the app.

‘Seo Mi-rae’ creates a lookalike character on the app, creating a gap between her and ‘Park Kyeong-nam’

Feeling betrayed by ‘Eun Ho’, ‘Seo Mi-rae’ takes up a survey and ends up creating a custom character, ‘Gu Yeong-il’. Surprisingly, the ‘Gu Yeong-il’ has a close resemblance to ‘Park Kyeong-nam’. However, when he got to know that ‘Seo Mi-rae’ had created his lookalike, the duo got into an argument. While ‘Seo Mi-rae’ tries to make him understand what really happened, ‘Park’ reveals that he needs time to process the whole thing and is unable to understand his feelings for her. ‘Park’s’ confession makes ‘Seo Mi-rae’ emotional, and she thinks that he has become like his old self when he used to not talk to her much.

Will ‘Seo Mi-rae’ and ‘Park Kyeong-nam’ reunite and have their happily ever after? (Spoilers ahead)

After parting ways with ‘Seo Mi-rae’, ‘Park Kyeong-nam’ was upset. However, his friend makes him understand that he is upset only because he loves her truly. After realising his true feelings for her, ‘Park’ goes back to ‘Seo Mi-rae’ and confesses his feelings. But ‘Seo Mi-rae’ tries to keep their relationship a secret from their workplace. Meanwhile, she goes back to ‘Gu Yeong-il’ and learns more about his conversation with ‘Park’. In the process of hiding their relationship from their colleagues, ‘Park’ gets injured. However, ‘Seo Mi-rae’ admits why she hid the relationship. She has bid goodbye to ‘Gu Yeong-il’. The series ends with ‘Seo Mi-rae’ and ‘Park Kyeonh-nam’s’ happily ever after.
