A BBC Radio 1 star has shared their joy as she announced she is pregnant with a “little IVF baby”.

Lauren Layfield shared the happy news in a sweet Instagram post on Friday evening, as she revealed she and her husband Luke Beddows were due to become parents in June. Lauren, 38, shared a string of photos on her Instagram page to announce the news.

The first photo saw Lauren showing off her blossoming bump in a long dress posing for the camera on a balcony. “Some news…” she wrote on top of the image and included an emoji of a chick hatching from an egg. The second photo shows her proud husband Luke showing off a sonogram image of an ultrasound scan.

And the third sees Luke smiling while stood next to his wife, who is showing off her bump in underwear, as the pair stand in front of a mirror. She then revealed in the caption: “Guys, in what’s been called “a very off-brand” move from us…we’re having an actual baby!

“After almost 20 years(!) together, little IVF baby Beddows arrives to ruin our lives in June”. She then teased: “(Honestly there’s been SO MUCH going on I need to tell you about)”. Lauren was met with floods of congratulatory messages in the comments as Yasmin Evans wrote: “Lozinge!!! Amazing. Beautiful mama”. Ian Stirling added: “YAY!!!!! Delighted for you absolute legends xxx”. And Traitors star Minah Shannon said: “LAUREN!!!! Congratulations” followed by three red heart emojis.

Lauren has been a presenter on BBC Radio 1 since she joined the station in 2023, taking over the Friday Early Breakfast Show. Meanwhile, she also covers slots for other presenters in their absence. She has also previously worked for CBBC, Capital FM and has appeared on TV shows too including Celebrity Mastermind, Newsround, BBC Morning Live and The One Show, which she has guest presented on. She also featured on The Weakest Link earlier this year.
