
TEHRAN- A large group of artists and cultural figures gathered in front of the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) on Thursday to pay their respects to the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and to reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of the Islamic Republic.
The solemn assembly served as a platform for the artistic community to express their grief and renew their pledge to the path of the revolution, IRNA reported.
The event was attended by high-ranking officials and prominent figures, including Mehdi Mohammadi, the Deputy for Parliamentary Affairs and Commander of the Basij at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance; Aidin Mehdizadeh, Director General of Visual Arts; Babak Rezai, Director General of the Music Office; and Abbas Azimi, Director of the Veteran Artists Institute, the report added.
Distinguished members of the cinema and arts community were also present, including veteran director Jamal Shurjeh, film producer Mehdi Azimi Mirabadi, Ahmad Miralaei, Vahid Fakhr-Mousavi, Saeid Nejati, and filmmaker Qorban-Ali Taherfar. Other notable attendees included war photographer Kamaleddin Shahrokh and poets Reza Esmaeili and Mohammad Mehdi Abdollahi.
The ceremony was hosted by poet Mohammad Mahdi Abdollahi, who performed several recitations throughout the program. Veteran poet Reza Esmaeili also offered his condolences on the martyrdom of the Leader, reciting verses dedicated to the Islamic Revolution and the martyred Leader.
During the gathering, Mehdi Azimi Mirabadi and Kamaleddin Shahrokh shared personal reflections and memories of their encounters with the Leader, highlighting his profound character and support for the arts. Ahmad Miralaei also addressed the audience, emphasizing the spiritual legacy left behind.
A significant moment of the event featured Abbas Azimi, CEO of the Veteran Artists Institute, who read a formal statement on behalf of Iran’s veteran artists. The statement strongly condemned the “brutal and heinous attacks by the Zionist regime and the United States” against Iran, which led to the martyrdom of the Leader.
Furthermore, filmmaker Qorban-Ali Taherfar recounted memories from a meeting between the Leader and artists from Tabriz last February, sharing insights from that encounter. Mehdi Mohammadi also delivered a speech focusing on the resilience of the cultural sector.
The ceremony concluded with Vahid Fakhr-Mousavi, theater director and secretary of the 44th Fajr International Theater Festival, reading the final resolution of the gathering.
The statement emphasized the artistic community’s unwavering loyalty to the Islamic Republic, their adherence to the decisions of the Assembly of Experts, and their renewed oath of allegiance to the leadership.
