Sithamparappillai Jegatheepan only set up his business in 2018 and he told the paper it was a “big surprise” to have won, after he entered for the first time. The presitigious award comes with a €4,000 prize, and the right to supply the Élysée Palace, which is the official residence of the President of France in Paris, with around 25 baguettes every morning.
