After defeating Jadran Split last week, Jug continued to win points in big Croatian derbies.

The Dubrovnik-based team edged Mladost 9:8 in Zagreb in the 10th round of the Croatian League.

Jug dictated the pace throughout the match. Mladost took the lead only twice (1:0 at the beginning of the match and 4:3 deep into the second period). Following Mladost’s fourth goal, Jug scored three in a row, going to 6:4 in the middle of the third quarter. From that point on, Jug was always in front. The visitors earned a 3-goal lead in the 31st minute (9:6) and sealed the win. The hosts scored two consolation goals in the final minute.

Vlaho Pavlic, a 21-year-old, led Jug’s attack by scoring five goals, while Maro Susic added two. Goalkeeper Toni Popadic played an important role in securing the victory, making 11 saves, six of them in the first quarter. For Mladost, both Franko Lazic and Konstantin Kharkov each scored two goals.
