Rousey and Browne met in 2015 and almost instantly fell in love. That October, the couple made their relationship official and have been inseparable since. Confirming the romance, he had famously said on The MMA Hour:

“She’s my woman, and I am her man.”

Browne, who was marrying for the second time after a split from his ex-wife, Erin, found his “other half” in Rousey. After dating for a couple of years, the couple got engaged in April 2017 and tied the knot just four months later in an outdoor ceremony in Hawaii on August 26, 2017. Who is Travis Browne?

While Ronda Rousey, aka “Rowdy”, is an elite name in women’s MMA, her husband, Travis Browne, has been a renowned face in heavyweight fights. Browne, famously nicknamed “Hapa”, stands at 6’7″ and has competed in the UFC for several years before retiring from professional MMA in 2017. His debut inside the cage in 2010 was itself a legendary one, where he defeated James McSweeney by TKO.

Travis Kuualiialoha Browne is of Hawaiian descent, and he has never missed a chance to celebrate his Hawaiian roots. During a 2011 interview with the UFC, Browne talked about his growing-up years in Honolulu, Hawaii. Recalling those carefree days, Browne said:

“For me, it was a typical childhood, but I was a little rough around the edges. We had very little supervision growing up, so we were able to do pretty much what we wanted to do as kids. Growing up in a Hawaiian household, that’s a toddler’s dream.”

A former black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Browne had been active in the UFC from 2009 to 2017. Throughout his career, he has fought 26 fights, out of which he won 18, lost 7, and one became a draw. His final fight was in July 2017 against Aleksei Oleinik at UFC 213, which he lost. After his fighting career, Browne shifted all focus to his wife and raising a beautiful family with her in a ranch life.

Rousey and Browne got married in a romantic Hawaiian wedding in October 2017, and they have been together ever since. Over the years, the pair has built a busy life together outside the fighting ring. They are the parents of two daughters, Laakea Makalapuaokalanipo, born in September 2021, and Likoula Pauomahinakaipiha, born in January 2025. Browne also has two sons, Keawe and Kaleo, from his previous marriage.

Now both retired and happy, the couple lives a country-style life, revolving around their two ranches, one in California and another in Oregon. They also own a property known as Browsey Acres in Riverside, California. There, the couple focuses on regenerative farming, raising animals such as cattle and chickens, and selling locally sourced meat products. Since retiring from the UFC, Browne has shifted his focus towards business and media. He co-hosts the podcast Tough Business with entrepreneur John Fosco, where they talk about entrepreneurship, personal growth, and life after professional sports. As a doting father and a family man, Browne is also passionate about cooking and often shares heartfelt glimpses of his home on social media, from cooking elaborate meals to supporting his sons’ football careers.

The former fighter has credited his Hawaiian roots for instilling family values from an early life. Speaking about how family culture and close-knit dynamics were instilled in him growing up in Oahu. He told the UFC in 2011:

“I was born in Oahu, Hawaii … It’s like you’re being raised in a village with all your aunts and uncles, and your cousins are always around, so there’s always that family feeling you get.”
