The hit dance number Shararat from Dhurandhar, has emerged as an instant chartbuster after the film’s release. While the high-energy track features Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza, it also shows the real voices behind the song, singers Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas in the official music video. However, Madhubanti recently revealed that she wasn’t always on board with appearing in front of the camera.
Speaking during a roundtable conversation with Rohini on the YouTube channel Fever HM, Madhubanti admitted to being reluctant about the opportunity. She explained, “I was hesitant. I am just extremely hesitant about everything other than going to the studio or staying at home. Every other thing I will be hesitant and ask, ‘Why?'”
She even questioned the director’s decision to include her in the video, given the star-studded cast already present in the scene. She shared, “I asked Aditya Dhar, ‘Why? You have so many people in that sequence; the actors, dancers, and everyone.”’ Despite her reservations, it was Aditya’s clarity that eventually convinced her. She added, “He was so convinced about what he wants to do so there is not much that you can protest about. He said I want this and I said okay!”
While she agreed to the appearance, it came with a specific condition. Madhubanti laughingly shared, “My only condition was that, ‘Do not make me dance!’ Because I don’t want people to see that!” In the film, Shararat is set during a lavish wedding celebration in Karachi. While Ayesha and Krystle play wedding dancers, Madhubanti and Jasmine appear as the live singers grooving to the beats. Composed by Sashwat Sachdev and choreographed by Vijay Ganguly, the track has already crossed over 340 million views on YouTube.
Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt became India’s highest-grossing film of 2025. Fans are now looking forward to the sequel, Dhurandhar The Revenge, which is set for release on March 19.
