All the favorites recorded victories in the 14th round of the Premier VRL League this weekend, so they remained in the same positions they held before the final round.
Leader Radnicki defeated Partizan 21:13, Jadran was better than Crvena Zvezda 14:11 in Herceg Novi, while Sabac collected three points in Podgorica, defeating Buducnost 23:13.
Along with the three teams that recorded victories this weekend, Primorac, which is participating in the Euro Cup this evening, also qualified for the Final Four.
2026 Premier VRL League, Round 14
(quarters 2:3, 3:3, 6:3, 3:2)
The game between Jadran and Crvena Zvezda was quite interesting. Crvena Zvezda managed to stay competitive for almost three quarters. In fact, the Red and Whites got off to a strong start, forcing the home team to attempt to catch up. Six minutes into the game, Red Star was ahead 3:0. By the end of the first quarter, Jadran began to increase its tempo but only managed to equalize in the 15th minute, when Janovic converted a man-up to make it 5:5. The visitors’ captain Markovic quickly responded, allowing the visitors to end the half leading 6:5.
The third quarter showcased a closely contested match. Crvena Zvezda held onto a slim lead for a lengthy period. However, the Belgrade-based team ran out of gas for the finish. In the 23rd minute, Jadran went ahead for the first time (9:8). Kasum leveled at 9:9 shortly after, but Jadran had the game under control. By the end of the third quarter, the home team had netted two additional goals. Fran Valera commenced the fourth quarter with two goals, giving Jadran a safe 13:9 lead.
Valera was the best scorer of the winning team, contributing four goals to Jadran’s 14:11 victory, while Gojkovic and Janovic added three each. Marko Radovic scored three goals for Crvena Zvezda.
(quarters 6:5, 5:3, 5:3, 5:2)
Radnicki faced Partizan with a rejuvenated squad. The team did not include Dusko Pijetlovic, Nikola Jaksic, Strahinja Rasovic, etc. However, the Kragujevac-based team dictated the pace from the beginning. Partizan kept pace with the hosts in the first quarter and managed to equalize at 1:1, 2:2, 4:4 and 5:5. In the eighth minute, Bulgarian Ivanov scored from the penalty line to give Radnicki a new lead – 6:5. The home team opened the second half with a four-goal streak, jumping to 10:5 in the 12th minute. Partizan managed to reduce the deficit to three goals on two occasions (8:11 and 9:12). However, Radnicki’s motivated goalgetters did not allow the visitors to get any closer.

Andrija Prlainovic and Samuil Tsvetanov Ivanov led Radnicki to victory with four goals each. Partizan’s top scorers were Djokanović and Kutajar with three goals each.

Sabac and Buducnost were in an even contest in the opening minutes. At the first break, the home team had a minimal lead (4:3). The team from Sabac turned the score around with two goals in the first 90 seconds of the second quarter – 5:4. Brguljan equalized, but in the last five minutes of the first half, Šabac built a solid lead (10:6) with a 5:1 run. The team from Podgorica did not give up. Vujošević halved their deficit with two goals at the beginning of the third quarter (8:10). However, as the match drew to a close, the difference in strength between the two rivals became increasingly apparent in the score, with Sabac winning 23:13.

Ognjen Stojanovic scored four goals for Sabac. He was followed by Barać, Korać and Toholj with three each. Vujosevic netted four goals, and Brguljan three for the home side.
