Although the salaries of the remaining cast members were not reported or revealed anywhere, the budget of the movie, which was around USD 130-175 million, hinted that the actors playing the main roles received a lot of money.

According to Variety, the film opened with collections of USD 22.4 million when it was released in September 2025. The break-even point was reported to be almost USD 200 million. By November 2025, the film had reached USD 200 million. While the overall numbers were not so satisfying as expected, the film emerged as the highest-grossing film in the career of director Paul Thomas Anderson. The 55-year-old has previously directed other films like Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood, The Master, Phantom Thread, and more.

One Battle After Another was among those films at the 98th Academy Awards that managed to win in multiple categories. The biggest win for the movie was in the category of Best Picture. The film secured its victory by defeating other popular entries, including Sinners, Blue Moon, The Secret Agent, Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, Sentimental Value, Train Dreams, Bugonia, F1: The Movie, and Hamnet. The film was nominated in seven more categories at this year’s Oscars, including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actress.

The movie’s producer, Sara Murphy, expressed her feelings by saying that her heart was exploding. Director Paul Thomas Anderson was also present on stage, who referred to everyone involved with the film and stated that they were blessed to be a part of the project. While accepting the award for Best Adapted Screenplay, Paul said that he owes a big debt to Thomas Pynchon. For the unversed, One Battle After Another was an adaptation of a novel, Vineland, written by Thomas Pynchon. Paul mentioned the name of his wife, Maya Rudolph, in his speech, and continued:

“I wrote this movie for my kids, to say sorry for the housekeeping mess that we left in this world we’re handing off to them. But also with the encouragement that they will be the generation that hopefully brings us some common sense and decency. My Pearl, Lucy, Jack, and Ida. I love you. Thank you very much.”
