We have a busy day’s racing on Monday with action from Ffos Las, Plumpton and Wolverhampton live on Sky Sports Racing…
7.30 Wolverhampton – Beauzon seeks eight-timer
Beauzon returns to his beloved Wolverhampton seeking an incredible eight-timer and looking for his 13th success on his 40th start at the track!
The first win of the sequence came at Lingfield in January off a mark of 50 and he now comes here in March on a mark of 70. Ian Williams has done a remarkable job to keep his prolific gelding on song and another bold front-running bid could be on the cards.
The rest of the field arrive here looking to rediscover their form with only the Ruth Carr-trained Digital a previous winner in his last three races, however, Mart, Mumayaz, Twilight Madness and Water Of Leith all have a course success to their name.
2.05 Chantilly Prix Ronde de Nuit – Afjan and Baker Blue contest feature
Afjan and Baker Blue contest today’s feature Listed Prix Ronde de Nuit at Chantilly.
Afjan won twice last year, most notably landing the Group Three Prix d’Arenberg at ParisLongchamp in August. He then took a big jump in class and ran against his elders in the Group One Prix de l’Abbaye on Arc Day and ran a credible eighth. If he has wintered well, he should be bang there.
In contrast to Afjan, Baker Blue comes here with a much different profile. He ran 11 times as a juvenile with the first six runs coming in Ireland before switching to Dylan Cunha’s yard from John Harrington without a win. He has since won two times in five starts, steadily climbing through the ranks but this test asks a new question of him.
The unexposed Birdcall comes here from Ollie Sangster’s yard and is an intriguing runner given he is two from two after winning two novice races at Nottingham and Southwell.
4.30 Ffos Las – El Gavilan and Jukebox Fury lock horns
El Gavilan and Jukebox Fury are two horses who are bang in form and they will lock horns in our penultimate race, the Blackmores Handicap Hurdle from Ffos Las.
Starting with El Gavilan, he comes here chasing a four-timer following an 18-pound rise in the weights since his first win of the sequence at the track back in January. He latterly brought up the hat-trick with a neck success here last month and climbs another five pounds in the weights but is hard to knock.
Jukebox Fury returns to the track after almost a year off, chasing a hat-trick for Nicky Henderson with James Bowen in the plate hoping to maintain the winning thread. He is up nine pounds for the latest of his wins and could go well if fit for the time on the sidelines.
Sean Bowen and Olly Murphy combine with Up To Trix who continues to improve looking for a first success.
Best of the rest
2.45 Plumpton – Kool Kid bids to defy five-pound rise.
4.45 Plumpton – Taritino and Eliza Dolitte clash.
8.30 Wolverhampton – Crimson Rambler chases hat-trick.
