Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan is expected to be discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital today after spending nearly a month recovering from a minor brain haemorrhage. The past few weeks have been tense for both his family and the film industry, but reports now confirm that the 90 year old has shown strong improvement and is ready to return home.

Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra West on February 17 after experiencing a brain related medical emergency. He was taken to the emergency room early in the morning, where doctors quickly began assessments and formed a specialised team under senior consultant Dr Jaleel Parkar to monitor his condition closely.

Medical experts later revealed that he had suffered a minor brain haemorrhage. While the situation initially raised concern due to his age, doctors assured that it was manageable with proper care. As part of his treatment, he underwent Digital Subtraction Angiography, an advanced imaging procedure that does not involve major brain surgery but helps doctors examine blood vessels in detail.

Sharing an update at the time, Dr Parkar said, “There was minimal brain haemorrhage. A small procedure was done this morning, and it was accomplished. He is fine and stable, but is still on a ventilator. By tomorrow, hopefully, we will take him off the ventilator. All in all, he’s doing quite well. Keeping his age in mind, the recovery time is longer.

Throughout his hospital stay, family members including Salman Khan remained by his side, while several well known personalities reached out with support, including Akhilesh Yadav, who recently met Salman and shared a picture.
