Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet and Robert Pattinson are starring in Dune: Part Three. Director Denis Villeneuve is gearing up to create a more intense and darker space with the new movie.
In the trailer, Zendaya’s Chani and Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides are seen deciding on baby names. They want to name the child Ghanima, if it’s a girl and Leto, if it’s a boy. The trailer shows glimpses of the galaxy under Paul Atreides’ rule. However, major conflict, political tensions and gruesome resistance lie ahead. The couple, while focusing on welcoming their baby, is also aware of the growing opposition.
Interestingly, the trailer also shows an unexpected appearance from Jason Momoa. While his character Duncan Idaho was last seen in Dune, he seems to be rejoining the franchise. Other regulars of the franchise include Rebecca Ferguson as Paul’s mother, Lady Jessica and Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck. In an instance, Paul tells his mother, “War feeds on itself. The more I fight, the more enemies fight back. I’m trying my best to protect my family. How did father do it?” His mother reverts, “Your father never started a war.”
Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy marks the third screen adaptation of the Dune novels, following David Lynch’s 1984 film and John Harrison’s 2000 miniseries. While the first instalment of this new franchise crossed 400 million dollars at the box office, the second film went on to surpass 700 million dollars worldwide.

Before the trailer debut, Chalamet shared a video message that stated, “After two impactful films with an in-development process that started in the [mid-2010s], a production process that started in 2018 and over 150 production days across the three films at large, today we are debuting the trailer to Dune: Part Three. This film would not exist without the master of cinema, the great artist that is Denis Villeneuve.”
