Rachel Tussey, 47-Year-Old Influencer Died After ‘Tummy-Tuck’ Surgery Gone Wrong, Mother Of Three

Famous TikToker, Rachel Tussey, died after a cosmetic surgery went wrong. A few weeks ago, her husband revealed that she had been diagnosed brain-dead after surgery. It is worth mentioning that the 47-year-old was a mother of three. She hailed from Ohio and was documenting her cosmetic surgery journey in her videos.

Rachel Tussey’s husband, Jeremy, announced her death

On March 18, 2026, Rachel Tussey’s husband, Jeremy Tussey, shared the update on a GoFundMe page, which was created for the family to support them in difficult times. For the unversed, Rachel Tussey had undergone surgery in late February 2026, and her condition drastically deteriorated. This led to severe brain damage, which led to her demise. 

Rachel’s husband, Jeremy, shared on the GoFundMe page that they are grateful for the love, prayers and generous support shown to the family during the incredibly difficult time. He shared that on March 17, 2026, at night, she passed away in the hospital. He further thanked people for their donations and kindness. Jeremy further shared that Rachel was an amazing wife, mother, and person who touched many lives. He thanked everyone for supporting them in this difficult time. He wrote:

“We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and generous support shown to our family during this incredibly difficult time. Last night, my wife Rachel lost her battle while in hospice care. Your donations, messages, and kindness have meant more to us than words can express. They have helped ease burdens and reminded us that we are not alone as we navigate this loss. ” 

What went wrong with Rachel as her health deteriorated after cosmetic surgery?

Rachel Tussey underwent tummy tuck surgery as part of her ‘mommy makeover’ On February 25, 2026. She wanted to undergo the surgery. Following the operation, it was informed to her family that the operation was successful. But her health quickly deteriorated in the recovery room. She became unresponsive after postoperative care. Despite the medical staff’s best efforts to revive her, she was brain-dead. It was later revealed that she was without oxygen for six minutes. 

Tussey’s condition was described as irreversible, as there was no recovery. Jeremy decided to remove his wife from life support as her brain was severely damaged. Later she was moved to hospice care. The 47-year-old influencer is survived by her three children and her husband. 

However, the doctor who performed surgery on Rachel called it successful and without any complications. He shared that she was transferred to the recovery unit in amazing condition and he personally updated her husband, who was by her side. She was speaking to him and was awake. He said:

“Rachel’s surgery was completed successfully and without complications. Rachel was extubated and transferred to the recovery unit (PACU) in excellent condition, where I personally updated Rachel’s husband and brought him to her bedside, where she was awake, speaking with him, and recovering as expected ahead of her planned overnight stay for monitoring.”

The doctor further added that due to her overnight stay in the recovery room, she was being monitored by staff, and it had nothing to do with his practice. He was later told about her condition, and he went to her to assist her. He said:

“Because Rachel was scheduled to remain overnight, her post-operative monitoring was overseen by staff contracted by the independent facility, not by my practice. I was later notified that her condition had unexpectedly changed and immediately returned to assist with her care and transfer to Bethesda North Hospital, where I remained with the family and continued to offer support.”
