Whoopi Goldberg shared some intimate details about her personal life on Wednesday, revealing that she has still has occasional casual sex. The star, 70, who attended the Oscars this month, made the candid confession during the Hot Topics segment on ABC ’s The View, sharing that she hangs out in bars and will do “hit and runs” from time to time.
She said: “I am single. I bar hop, I go hang. I do hit and runs when I need it… but I am not married to anybody. I don’t have responsibilities.”

Over the years, she’s enjoyed romances with playwright David Schein and her Eddie co-star Frank Langella. Goldberg also dated her co-stars Timothy Dalton and Ted Danson.
She told NY Times Magazine in 2016: “I’m much happier on my own. I can spend as much time with somebody as I want to spend, but I’m not looking to be with somebody forever or live with someone. I don’t want somebody in my house.
“I’m the round peg, and marriage is the square hole. You can’t have a square hole, can you? A woman who knows what she wants. And what she wants is a home all to her damn self.”
Whoopi attended the Oscars earlier this month and showed off the results of her weight loss. She’s stated that she weighed around 21 stone prior to taking Mounjaro.
She said on ABC’s the View in June last year: “I took Mounjaro. […] I say it all the time because you can’t go from close to 300lbs without somebody saying ‘okay what happened?'”
As previously reported, she said: “I weighed almost 300lbs when I made Till. I had taken all those steroids, I was on all this stuff, and one of the things that’s helped me drop the weight is the Mounjaro. That’s what I use.”
Whoopi said she had gained weight after taking steroids to address a back problem, She explained: “I had issues with my lower back a couple of years ago. It got progressive worse. They do an operation and fixed it, but it just wasn’t doing what it needed it to do, so they started giving me steroids. And over the course of almost two years I probably weighed 300 … close to 300lbs when I did Till.”
Amid discussion around weight loss and medication being used for weight management, Whoopi has encouraged people to not judge each other. She said on an episode of the View: “Stop judging everybody”.
