Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 or Dhurandhar: The Revenge has exploded at the box office right from day one, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark with ease. What makes it even more impressive is that this came despite multiple show delays and cancellations across regions during previews and release day. The film still managed to collect around Rs 102 crore in India, making it a massive jump from the first part, which had opened at Rs 27 crore.
Most of the film’s business came from the Hindi version, which alone contributed over Rs 99 crore. The regional versions added smaller numbers, with Telugu bringing in a couple of crores, while Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam chipped in modest figures. Kannada and Malayalam in fact faced technical issues and couldn’t even run paid previews, which affected their opening totals.
The buzz had already started building a day earlier through paid previews, where the film earned around Rs 43 crore from thousands of shows across the country. Director Aditya Dhar also shared a heartfelt note, apologising for the inconvenience and explaining how much the film means to the team. Even with the initial glitches, the audience turnout remained strong.

On its first official day, the film ran across more than 21,000 shows and recorded close to 60 percent occupancy. When combined with preview numbers, the total has already crossed Rs 145 crore net. With the Eid holiday period ahead and strong traction overseas as well, the film is expected to have a huge opening weekend, with trade predictions going as high as Rs 500 crore in India.
