What is one thing about your mom that makes her cooler than most people think?
What makes my mom very cool is the fact that she’s very open-minded. My mom studied philosophy and psychology, and I feel she has her own progressive way and a very deep way of seeing things and understanding people and life, which makes her very young at heart and a very interesting person to talk to.
What is one thing your mom always says that you used to roll your eyes at — but now find yourself saying too?
Something she used to tell me, and I used to roll my eyes at, is that everything happens for a reason. I used to find that very cliché, but now it’s something I understand. It’s something I live by, and it’s something I also keep on telling my kids.
What piece of advice from your mom do you think every young woman should hear?
A piece of advice that my mom used to tell me, and I think everybody should live by, is to dream big and to pursue the life you want and to ask for the things you want in life, and yeah, not to shy away from having big dreams.

Happy Mother’s Day! One thing I’d like to say to my mom on this special day, and it’s not something I say quite often, is that everything I am today is because of her. I grew up with a very ambitious mom and a very hardworking mom and an extremely disciplined mom, and I feel she fueled all these attributes in me.
Once again, Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mamas, especially in our region, because I know we’re going through tough times and it’s hard to mother and to go through life at the same time. So lots of love and lots of kisses.
