Singer Jessie J was rushed to hospital for an MRI scan after she hit her head on the roof of a car while on her way to a show, just months after undergoing two surgeries following a cancer diagnosis
Jessie J was taken to hospital for an MRI scan after suffering a head injury whilst travelling to a performance.
The 37 year old vocalist documented the frightening moment she feared she had broken her neck as she climbed into a vehicle en route to her latest concert. Moments after remarking she ‘didn’t mind squashing in the back’, Jessie J posted footage of herself undergoing an MRI scan at hospital following the impact with the car’s roof.
Subsequently, whilst preparing backstage for her performance, she detailed her injuries in a further video update. The Price Tag hitmaker revealed: “Yeah I just can’t move my head. I’m alright. I’ll just have to take some painkillers and march right through it.”, reports Birmingham Live.

She continued: “I thought I’d broken my neck but I haven’t. But I have really hurt my neck and my back.” Jessie J has become all too familiar with hospital visits lately, having undergone two operations following a cancer diagnosis.
The artist, born Jessica Ellen Cornish, had surgery last June to remove one of her breasts after being diagnosed with “early” breast cancer.
Following months of recuperation, she was recently forced to postpone tour dates after announcing she would require a ‘second surgery’. Speaking candidly about how the diagnosis has affected her life during a poignant address at the Music Industry Trust Awards, Jessie J reflected: “All of us here are going through stuff in life that we have to carry to work and leave at home or take to work.
“This year has changed my whole world. My perspective, what battles I’m going to pick, when death comes knocking at your door, and you kind of have to answer and f****** kick it away, it just changes everything.”
Jessie became a mum for the first time in May 2023, welcoming her son Sky Safir Cornish Colman with her partner, basketball star Chanan Safir Colman.
Having experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage before, she frequently shares her delight in being a mum and the “magic” that her son, born via planned C-section, brings into her life.
