Pedestrian crushed by woman who fell from above in Melbourne’s CBD

A pedestrian standing on a Melbourne CBD footpath has been seriously injured and taken to hospital after a woman fell from a building above and died.

The man was standing below a building on William Street, near the city’s court district, just before midday, when the woman fell from a height and landed on top of him.

Emergency services were called, but the woman, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.

The woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious, police said. They will prepare a report for the coroner.
