Netflix’s $100 million (£74 million) deal with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who are the Duchess and Duke of Sussex, has reportedly ended, and it is believed it won’t be renewed
Meghan Markle is set to return to acting following the unravelling of her exclusive $100 million dollar Netflix deal, it is reported.
The Duchess of Sussex has been tipped to “blow everybody’s mind” with her comeback, despite not having film credits since 2015. The 44-year-old woman’s link with Netflix has reportedly come to an end, following negative reviews of the second series of With Love, Meghan.
Veteran actor Eric Roberts, who worked with Meghan on legal drama Suits, said last week: “I think she should come back. I think she will come back. And I think she’s going to be fantastic and blow everybody’s mind.”
His casting director and manager wife Eliza added: “It is time. And Meghan needs to come back to work. I feel like her whole family will support it, and she is amazing.”
The pair spoke on the red carpet at a charity gala last week. Eliza claimed Meghan only left Suits in 2018 because the Royal Family had concerns about her “very sexy” screen character, paralegal Rachel Zane.

Recently ,the Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos quietly unfollowed both Meghan and her lifestyle brand As Ever’s Instagram accounts, amid claims that the relationship between the streaming giant and the Sussexes is souring. It came after an insider with the platform told reporters the company was “done” with Meghan and Harry.
It has left the couple facing a difficult situation, but the acting industry is said to be ready to embrace Meghan. Eliza, 73, added: “From the second you see her, she just has star quality. It doesn’t matter. It was always going to happen.”
It is believed mum-of-two Meghan had plans for her “passion project,” a Netflix animated series called Pearl, but this was cancelled before it got off the ground as their lucrative partnership was drastically paired down. Since then, speculation has swirled again that Meghan and 41-year-old Harry could return to the royal fold, particularly as they hope to carry out philanthropic engagements during their trip to Australia in April.
But the couple, who married in 2018, have been warned to have “thick skins” during their time Down Under. An insider said: “I think there will be plenty of monarchists and republicans who won’t welcome Harry and Meghan’s visit. Any ‘royal’ visit, even by members of the family who no longer represent the King, will inevitably create debate about the monarchy.”
Harry and Meghan will be in Australia within just weeks of King Charles’ trip to the United States, his first visit there since December 2018. During Charles’ last visit to Australia in October 2024, officials at New South Wales Parliament were left “disappointed” by one aspect of the monarch’s presence.
