Bodyguard Pascal Duvier has confirmed he was not working for Chappell Roan when he made 11-year-old Ada Law cry in a Brazil hotel, taking full responsibility and clearing the singer
Bodyguard Pascal Duvier has supported Chappell Roan‘s account, confirming he was not working for the pop star and she bore no responsibility for an 11 year old girl being left in tears.
The furore erupted following reports that Ada Law, the 11 year old daughter of Hollywood actor Jude Law, was supposedly reprimanded by a security guard in a Brazilian hotel lobby following an encounter with the 28 year old singer.
Ada’s stepfather Jorginho Frello turned to social media following the incident, alleging the guard confronted them at their breakfast table after his daughter smiled at Chappell while passing by, leaving her upset on her birthday. However, the bodyguard responsible for shouting at the youngster has now spoken out, confirming he has no connection with the Pink Pony Club performer.

In an Instagram Story, the guard wrote, “I do not normally address online rumors, but the accusations currently circulating are false and constitute defamation. I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st.”
He added, “I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan. The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals.”
Pascal concluded his statement, “I made a judgement call based on information we obtained from the hotel, events I had witnessed in the days prior and the heightened overall security risk of our location. My sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions, and the outcome of the encounter is regretful.”, reports the Mirror US.
While Pascal did not disclose who he was working for, he has exonerated Chappell’s name of being in any way accountable for the interaction. This follows the 28 year old singer sharing her own version of events in an Instagram Story, where she affirmed that she did not condone the behaviour.
She clarified, “I’m just going to tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard who is not my personal security. I didn’t even see a woman and a child. No one came up to me. No one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel.”
The Subway hitmaker continued to say that she did ask the security guard to go up and speak to this mother and child. She assured that they did not approach her in any way, and they did not do anything to disturb her.
Chappell concluded her video, “I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children. That is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something that you would do something, that if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”
