Dan appeared visibly distressed and in tears in new pictures obtained by the Mirror in the wake of his reported split from Jacqueline Jossa. The former reality star, 34, was overcome with emotion as he used a towel to wipe around his eyes.
The images were taken on Thursday, just a day after reports surfaced that the couple – who share daughters Ella, 11, and seven-year-old Mia – had split after 13 years together. Initial reports in The Sun detailed how they’d “decided to make the split permanent” after trialing a period of living apart.

Now an insider tells the Mirror that Dan wants to win Jacqueline, 33, back. A source says, “Dan is understandably upset, it’s such a shame and everyone is heartbroken. They both tried so hard to make it work.”
Later reports claimed that it was Dan, who ended their nine year marriage after he could no longer ‘cope’ with EastEnders star Jacqueline’s behaviour’ as she struggled to move beyond his past indiscretions.. Our source adds: “They’ve been so on and off, for Dan it never really feels over. He’ll try to come back, because in the past he always has and it’s worked. He’s desperate for them to stay as a family and win back Jac.”
Throughout their 13 years together, the couple have been plagued with multiple cheating claims. Less than a year after they married at Delamere Manor in Cheshire in 2017, the pair split citing that they couldn’t “make each other happy”. Then in 2018 rumours surfaced that Dan had been unfaithful with Love Island alumni Gabby Allen and Alexandra Cane – who both denied the claims.
However, Dan and Jacqueline reunited in 2019 but things didn’t stay rosy for long and they faced claims from Dan’s Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chloe Ayling that she’d had a threesome with him and Natalie Nunn after they starred in the reality show together the previous year. Dan has repeatedly denied these claims.
However, by 2020 Dan – who has son Teddy, 12, from a previous relationship – appeared to take ownership of the issues in the relationship and admitted he had “made mistakes”, but struggled to change his ways.
The latest union appeared fleeting as in March last year Jacqueline announced they had split, but a month later they went on a make-or-break holiday to Mexico. In June, Dan was accused of getting close to Christine McGuinness. Things took a turn in February when Dan reportedly moved out of the family home with a source saying at the time he had pushed the hard-working mum “too far”.
The couple met in 2013 at the height of Jacqueline’s fame endearing herself to EastEnders’ fans as Lauren Branning and shortly after Dan joined the cast of TOWIE. At the time Dan’s ex Megan Tomlin was pregnant with their son Teddy. A year later Jacqueline gave birth to Ella.
The actress has won an NTA and in 2019 was crowned Queen of the I’m A Celebrity Jungle. She is worth a reported £1.2m thanks to a combination of her acting work, brand partnerships and her performing arts academy. Dan was a former tattoo artist who has starred on TOWIE, Celebrity Big Brother, and Splash. He now works as a personal trainer and fitness influencer.
As he faces the reality of life without Jacqueline, the insider tells the Mirror that Dan is struggling to adjust to life without his wife. The source adds, “Dan enjoyed the fame and success that came with being with Jac. They felt as if was them against the world, that no one else really understood their love.
“Jac is never going to be short of work, she was more famous when they met and Dan sort of lived off that. He wanted to be an equal and support her so he lived off her success and that gave him motivation to keep achieving.”
The Mirror approached a representative for Dan for comment.
