As the new school year approached and interest in future careers grew among children, Dai-ichi Life Insurance released its latest survey on the “Top Jobs Children Want to Have When They Grow Up,” revealing shifting preferences alongside a rise in AI awareness.

Among elementary school boys, professional baseball player ranked second, while for girls, pâtissier held the top spot for the sixth consecutive year. The results highlighted both enduring popularity for traditional professions and evolving interests influenced by modern trends.
The survey also found that approximately 25% of children are already using generative AI in their daily lives, with many showing an increasing awareness of how such technologies could be used in their future careers.
Meanwhile, the Osaka Exchange hosted an economics workshop for parents and children, where participants learned about money and economic systems through hands-on experience in stock trading.
