Boston Red Sox right fielder Wilyer Abreu had himself a series in Cincinnati. The 2026 WBC champ went 6-for-13 against the Reds with two home runs and 4 RBI. He was Boston’s best offensive player over the first three games of the season, and Red Sox manager Alex Cora believes Abreu can stay hot moving forward.

Cora reminded reporters following the game that Abreu looked similarly locked in at the beginning of the 2025 season.

“I think this is sustainable,” Cora said. “He has a good knowledge of his swing and what the opposition is trying to do. We just gotta keep getting him more at-bats — especially against lefties — and see where it takes us.”

Abreu and Boston now head to Houston for a series with the Astros that begins on Monday. Ranger Suárez will make his Red Sox debut on the mound at Daikin Park against Lance McCullers, Jr.
