Famous Bengali actor, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee reportedly drowned accidentally at the Talsari Beach located in Digha and passed away on March 29, 2026. The actor was reportedly there shooting for the Star Jalsha serial, Bhole Baba Paar Karega. Now, the post-mortem report of Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has been out, and the exact cause of his demise has come out, and it is all shocking.

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee lost his life reportedly at 5.30 p.m. on March 29, 2026, after he drowned at the Talsari Beach located in Digha. A report by NDTV mentioned that the post-mortem of Rahul Arunoday Banerjee was done, and the exact cause of his demise was known. Rahul’s post-mortem was done at the Tamluk Hospital, and the initial findings revealed that Rahul passed away as he remained submerged in the water for a very long period of time.

The autopsy further mentioned that a huge amount of sand as well as water had accumulated in the lungs of Rahul. Due to this, his lungs had swelled to double their normal size. It was also reported that the sand and the saline water had entered Rahul’s oesophagus. Well, it is not yet clear if alcohol was present in Rahul’s body when the incident took place. Reportedly, a viscera examination will take place to obtain further details.

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee met his end on March 29, 2026, after he accidentally drowned at the Talsari beach in Digha, which is near the Odisha-West Bengal border. Reports revealed that the actor was taken to Digha hospital, where he was undergoing treatment, but he could not make it. An unnatural death case was also registered. Well, after Rahul Arunoday Banerjee’s post-mortem, his body was taken from Tamluk to his home in Bijoygarh, located in South Kolkata, on the afternoon of March 30, 2026. Well, Rahul’s family members, friends and also well-wishers came to pay their final respects to the actor. His last rites reportedly will be held at the Keoratala Crematorium.

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee’s wife, Priyanka Sarkar, had mustered the courage to share an official statement after the demise of her husband. She had written that it is a time of immense grief and deep despair for us. In this difficult moment, she sincerely requests space and also privacy. Rahul was a very famous face in Bengali TV and cinema. Priyanka’s heart-wrenching statement read:

“There is a child, a mother, a family, and loved ones trying to navigate this loss together. We kindly urge our friends and colleagues in the media to respect our boundaries, refrain from intrusion, and allow us the dignity to grieve in peace. Your understanding and support mean more than ever at this time.”

Rahul’s fans sympathised with Priyanka. A fan wrote, “I know there are no words which can ever wipe out your pain. It feels very heavy for me to make myself understood that @rahularunodaybanerjee da is no more with us. More power to you & Sohoj.” Another fan wrote, “My heartfelt condolences to you, Sohoj and your bereaved family. May Rahul’s soul rest in eternal peace. Unbelievable, more power to you, Shohoj and his family.”

A fan also wrote about how, due to Rahul, the fan became hooked to Bengali cinema. The user shared, “They say the first star you see in the evening stays with you the longest. You were my first glimpse into the soul of Bengali cinema, and that spark in Chirodini Tumi Je Amar never truly faded. Thank you for being the beautiful beginning of my journey into film. Though you have left the stage, the light from your debut will forever shine in the quiet corners of my heart.”
