Congratulations are in order for Chicago Cubs first baseman Michael Busch and his girlfriend, Haylee Schreen, who announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Thursday.
Busch proposed to Schreen, who is an esthetician, on March 15, according to the caption.
“The best chapter begins! Over the moon to begin a life time with my best friend! Rooted in Him, ready for forever! ❤️,” the pair wrote.
Schreen flashed her stunning radiant cut diamond engagement ring in a photo of them kissing.
The Cubs also shared the engagement news in their own Instagram post, writing, “Buschy and Haylee are engaged!! 🥹💐.”
She reposted it to her Instagram Story with a blue heart emoji.
It’s unclear when exactly Busch and Schreen got together.
She supported the infielder when the Cubs beat the San Diego Padres to advance to the National League Division Series (NLDS) last season, as seen in photos taken at Wrigley Field.
After a 92-win regular season, Chicago’s 2025 campaign ended with a 3-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 5 of the NLDS.
Busch went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Wednesday’s 6-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels at home.
The Cubs begin a three-game series against the Guardians in Cleveland on Friday.
He played college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels and made his MLB debut in 2023 with the Dodgers.
