Defiant Iran vows to escalate war after Trump’s threats of mass bombings, oil takeover

Iranian officials remained defiant Sunday as they threatened to target energy and civilian sites across the Middle East if President Trump makes good on his promise to ramp up air strikes and hijack Tehran’s oil.

Trump told Fox News that Iran had until Monday morning to accept his peace deal or he would consider “blowing everything up and taking over the oil.”

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards responded with their own threats, warning that the Islamic Republic would step up its attacks on oil and civilian infrastructure facilities if the US and Israel escalate the war.

Tehran’s warning came after Iran claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on petrochemical plants in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain over the weekend.

Kuwait, a key US ally in the region, suffered the heaviest blow of the 24-hour assault, with the country’s Electricity and Water Ministry reporting that two power and one water desalination plants were hit and damaged.

Along with the energy plants and civilian infrastructure, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned ‌that it would specifically target and ramp up strikes on US economic interests in the region if attacks on civilian targets in Iran are repeated.

The RGC threat was a clear reference to Trump’s earlier foul-mouthed tirade on social media, where the president demanded Iran agree to end the war and open the Strait of Hormuz.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F—in’ Strait, you crazy b—–ds, or you’ll be living in Hell.”
“JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah,” he added in a signed post.

Mizan, an outlet affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, mocked the president’s warning and expressed outrage over the use of profanities against the Islamic republic.

“Iran’s steadfastness and resistance have driven Trump to the brink of madness,” the outlet wrote.

The US and Iran are still not in direct negotiations with each other as regional mediators try to bring the two sides together to discuss a cease-fire deal.

Mediators in Oman discussed plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz with Iran on Sunday, but there are still no signs of a positive outcome.
