Robert Downey Jr shared subtle hints about Avengers: Doomsday on Easter this year. The acclaimed actor is set to return to Marvel Studios’ Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming film. However, he will not be reprising his iconic role as Iron Man. Instead, Downey Jr is set to take on a new avatar as Doctor Doom.
While fans are eager to see him in a different avatar, Robert Downey Jr took to Instagram and teased the film. The actor shared a picture featuring Doctor Doom holding a basket of several Easter Eggs. The eggs featured symbols of numerous Marvel characters that could likely appear in the film.
A few obvious ones were blood-covered Captain America’s shield, Spider-Man, Black Panther, the Avengers (cracked egg), the X-Men, the Fantastic Four (crossed out), Namor, and Shang-Chi. Interestingly, fans noticed that there are two Spider-Man-themed eggs.
He captioned the post as, “The Doom is coming!!”

Besides Robert Downey Jr, Marvel Studios has also confirmed that Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Tom Hiddleston, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Danny Ramirez, Hannah John-Kamen, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Channing Tatum, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, and Lewis Pullman will be seen in the movie.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday picks up fourteen months after the events of Thunderbolts*.
