Mo Farah will join 11 other I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Allstars for a round in the South African jungle

Olympic runner Mo Farah is making his way to the South African jungle after his 2020 stint in the Welsh castle. The second series of the ITV spin-off, which features some of the show’s most memorable campmates, is set to launch on Monday, April 6.

Now the star is ready to take on the show one more time. “The last time I was in there was hard, because I was still competing and you worry about what you can and can’t say,” the 43-year-old explains. “This time around, I am retired. I’ve got nothing to prove and I can be more open.”

“I can talk about things in more detail.” But one thing hasn’t changed – and that is his fear of snakes. “Even speaking about snakes makes me feel terrified,” he confesses. “There were so many things I was scared of when I did those trials, but it was the snakes that I found scariest.”

Who is Mo Farah?

Sir Mo Farah’s name will always be mentioned as one of Team GB’s all-time legends at the Olympic Games. He won two gold medals in London in 2012 and two more at the Rio De Janeiro games four years later, captivating the sporting world on his way to a knighthood in 2017, where Queen Elizabeth II made him a Sir.

In 2022 Mo revealed in a heartbreaking documentary that he was brought into the UK illegally under the name of another child when he was just nine years old.

Farah met his now-wife Tania Nell while at university in West London. Together they have four children, Rhianna, Hussein Mo, Amani and Aisha Farah.

When was Mo Farah on I’m A Celebrity?

He was initially on I’m A Celeb in 2020, when the contestants had to do the show from Wales due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He placed sixth on the series.

What did Mo Farah do on I’m A Celebrity?

Mo’s most memorable challenge was when he faced his fears in the Fort Locks trial, in which he was knocked down by fish guts and covered in a number of critters as he attempted to win meals for camp.

Ahead of the announcement that he was entering the jungle, a source said: “Mo is very competitive so is definitely out to win this time round. He’s excited to experience a different side of I’m A Celeb as obviously the castle series were dramatically different to Oz. The sunny camps bring with them new problems, but he’s feeling excited for the challenge.”

We are excited to watch too, Mo!
