Noah Lyles And Junelle Bromfield Relationship Timeline, From A Failed Date To Wedding Celebration

Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield are now married, and their story did not happen fast. It started with a simple Instagram message and slowly turned into something strong. Over the years, they went from strangers to friends, then partners, and now husband and wife. They got married on April 4, 2026, in Georgia, after building a relationship that survived distance, doubts, and second chances. Their story is special in how real it feels; they did not rush, and they grew step by step, and that is what brought them here.

It all began in 2017–2018 when Junelle Bromfield sent Noah Lyles a direct message on Instagram. She asked him a simple question, “Do you cook?” That one message started long conversations. They talked for months before meeting in person. But when they finally met, things did not go as expected. 

Both of them later said the first date did not click at all. Instead of forcing it, they chose to stay friends. Even though that first meeting did not work, they stayed in touch. They would text, joke, and slowly build comfort. Over time, they became close, but nothing serious happened yet.

From 2018 to 2022, their bond stayed mostly as friendship. They supported each other from a distance and sometimes lost touch when life got busy or when they were in other relationships. Still, the connection never fully went away. They knew each other well by then. They had seen each other’s good and bad sides. In 2022, Noah Lyles decided to try again. He asked Junelle Bromfield out one more time. This time, things felt different. Their second date was simple; they went out for sushi, and Noah even taught her how to use chopsticks. 

That small moment showed how easy things had become between them. From there, they started dating in August 2022. A few months later, in December, they made their relationship public when they attended the USATF Night of Legends event together. That same night, Noah won Male Athlete of the Year. Junelle later shared on Instagram in August 2023:

“Cheers to 7 years of friendship, 6 months of dating, 1 year of being your partner, and to forever loving you.”

Both are top athletes, but they compete in different races. Noah Lyles runs the 100m and 200m, while Junelle Bromfield focuses on the 400m. They trained together in Florida and also competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics. That time was big for both of them. Noah won gold in the 100m and bronze in the 200m. Junelle also had strong performances and had already won a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics earlier in her career. After Noah’s 200m race in Paris, Junelle wrote on Instagram:

“The run that I’m proudest about. You are a fighter.”

Their relationship also helped them grow mentally. Noah has openly spoken about his mental health and using therapy. In an interview with PEOPLE, he said, “Just because I’m struggling doesn’t mean that I’m going to quit. I’m a human being, I’m not a superhero, I have feelings, I have emotions.” Junelle shared with The Inside Lane that his support pushed her to start therapy, too. She said, “I started therapy about two years ago because my boyfriend is big on therapy and felt I needed it. It’s been really helpful.” They also kept a clear rule. At practice, they stayed focused on training. Noah once said she does not even let him call her “baby” on the track. But outside training, they enjoy simple things like dancing together.

By mid 2024, Noah Lyles knew he wanted to marry, Junelle Bromfield. He designed a ring and planned a surprise proposal. In October 2024, during what looked like a normal trip with friends, he proposed. Even though it was meant to be a surprise, Junelle got a small hint when a friend told her, “Prepare yourself for tonight.” Later that evening, Noah proposed with a setup full of flowers and sparklers. Surrounded by close friends, she said yes. After that, they celebrated the night together.  Speaking on the Fast Lane Lifestyle podcast earlier in June 2024, Noah had already shared how serious he was about love. He said:

“Whenever I get in a relationship, I’m very serious. We’re going to grow old together, and it’s going to be forever.” 

They got married on April 4, 2026, at The Conservatory at Blackberry Ridge in Georgia. Wedding planning had its own challenges. They had to balance American and Jamaican traditions. Junelle said planning felt easy for her, while Noah said he ended up doing more than expected. He also spoke honestly about costs and said small things added up quickly, but they got support from skilled people and planners.
