No matter how he’s playing or how his body is feeling, Rory McIlroy will be the center of attention when the 2026 Masters begins on Thursday.
After several near-misses and heartbreaks, McIlroy finally captured his first title and green jacket last year at Augusta National. With it, he completed the career Grand Slam and etched his place in tournament history.
The dramatic victory was the highlight of last season, but so far in the 2026 season, McIlroy hasn’t looked quite as sharp. While he earned a runner-up finish at the Genesis Invitational, he finished T46 at the Players Championship and withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational with back discomfort.
McIlroy has fallen in the Masters odds as a result, but he’s still World No. 2, and he’s a threat anytime he tees it up at Augusta National.
McIlroy will tee off for the opening round on Thursday at 10:31 a.m. ET alongside Cameron Young and amateur Mason Howell.
