Kate Lohan, the stepmother of Lindsay Lohan, was recently taken into custody on April 14, 2026 (ET). The incident happened after Kate reportedly hit Lindsay’s father, Michael. Notably, Lindsay has not shared any reaction from her side about the matter so far. Michael was married to Kate between 2014 and 2015.

Kate Lohan has been charged with assaulting a family member
Kate Lohan’s arrest was first reported by TMZ on April 15, 2026. Notably, the alleged assault incident happened in Texas. While speaking to TMZ, insiders claimed that Kate and Michael Lohan met each other to exchange their children. However, the former was reportedly frustrated as she was woken up. Kate allegedly displayed violent behaviour at one point and punched Michael, who was injured on the nose. Kate also reportedly tossed a knife towards her ex-husband, but he managed to dodge it.
Although the knife did not injure Michael, it bounced off his chest. Legal documents related to Kate’s arrest later disclosed that she was intoxicated when she was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Kate is being held at a USD 35,000 bond, and she has been charged with assaulting a family member. Moreover, she has to take an alcohol test before release and has been restricted from getting in touch with Michael Lohan, alongside their children. The conditions were ordered by the judge following a bail hearing on the day of the incident. According to TMZ, Kate’s next court date has been set for April 16, 2026 (ET).

However, Kate later accused Michael during questioning, saying that the latter allegedly provoked her by accusing her of cheating on him.
Kate was involved in trouble once again in 2016 after she reportedly attacked a cop. The incident happened when Kate was attempting to enter the building where she and Michael used to live together. Kate was sentenced to six months. In 2018, Kate had allegedly attacked a bus driver in Pennsylvania. Although she was arrested, Kate was later released on bail.
