Madonna fans predict ‘an amazing moment in Coachella history’ as singer rumoured to perform with Sabrina Carpenter ahead of her new Confessions II album release
Madonna fans have been sent into a spin over rumours that she could be returning to the stage for a surprise performance at the second weekend of Coachella.
The Queen of pop is back to dominate the charts once again, and will be dropping Confessions II – her first album in seven years – on July 3.
If that wasn’t excitement enough, there has been intense speculation that the 67-year-old will be joining Sabrina Carpenter during her headline set at the US festival on Friday.
Coachella-goers were buzzing with excitement on social media after it was claimed that Madge was in LA, with many predicting that she would make an appearance in Indio, California very soon.

“Rumour is she’s Sabrina’s special guest. Sabrina has 10 extra minutes this weekend,” one posted on Reddit, while another suggested: “Probably a special thing for her new album confessions on a dance floor II. When she surprised Coachella on 2006 was for her album Confessions I [sic].”
A fan commented: “Crazy, Madonna still gets people interested. Not surprised, she really does deliver live. There’s just something about her.”
“She is know as The Queen of Pop for a reason. One of the last standing legends in the music industry and has paved a way for the female Artist today. There was MJ, Prince.. I’m sure many more but just typing fast but they’re all gone [sic],” a Reddit user added.
“We still have Madonna standing strong. An icon. If this happens, it’s going to be such an amazing moment in Coachella history.”
While Madonna has remained tight-lipped over the speculation, she has been busy promoting her upcoming release – a continuation of her 2005 record, Confessions on a Dance Floor. Confessions II serves as her 15th album, and the first release since Madame X in 2019.
She unveiled the first snippet for the opening track, I Feel So Free, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, teasing what fans can expect from her new work.
“People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong,” she said in a press release. “The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language.”
“We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies,” she said. “These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years – they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect with your wounds, with your fragility.” “To rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people.”
The Mirror has approached Madonna’s reps for a comment.
