Is Season 2 Of Matka King On The Cards? Actor, Viineet Kumar Siingh Confirms It, ‘Lot More About..’

Matka King, starring Vijay Varma and Kritika Kamra has officially been released on the OTT giant, Amazon Prime Video. The 8-episode series is inspired by the real-life of Ratan Khatri, who was a cotton trader. Later, he went on to create a gambling game named Matka. Now that the series is generating buzz on social media, the curiosity around Matka King Season 2 has increased. Well, actor, Viineet Kumar Siingh, who is also a part of the series, recently shared an update on the same.

What happened in the series, Matka King?

The plot of the series, Matka King revolves around ‘Brij Bhatti’ (played by Vijay Varma). The character is said to be inspired by Ratan Khatri. In the series, cinephiles can see ‘Brij’ as a married man and his wife is expecting a child. In his professional life, he is a cotton trader, who went on to create a gambling game, which later became a global phenomenon. Hours after the series was released, multiple users appreciated the plot and hailed the performance of Vijay Varma. It is also worth noting that Matka King is the first project of Kritika Kamra after her wedding with Gaurav Kapur.

Viineet Kumar Siingh confirms Season 2 of Matka King

Well, for the Matka King fans, there is some good news! Even though neither the makers nor the OTT giant has shared details about Season 2, recently actor, Viineet Kumar Siingh, who was last seen in the show, Hello Bachhon opened up about his role. He shared that in Season 1, he appears as a guest; however, the audience will know more about him in the next season. According to a report by IANS, Viineet Kumar Siingh was quoted as saying:

“Matka King is very special to me. We shot it around mid-2025. This is a guest appearance in Season 1, and a lot more about it will unfold when the next season comes out. For now, I’d rather not say too much. At the moment, just enjoy Season 1. I’ve always wanted to work with Nagraj Manjule and with Siddharth Roy Kapoor sir, and to collaborate with Roy Kapur Films, so this is how that journey has begun. There’s a lot more in store for Season 2, but for now, enjoy Season 1.”

When Vijay Varma spoke about his role in Matka King

A few days before the release of Matka King, Vijay Varma sat down for a candid conversation, during which he opened up about his role in the recently released series. During the same, he mentioned that ‘Brij Bhatti’ came to Mumbai during the partition, when he was only seven or eight years old. In the series, even though seems good about his professional life, he is still not allowed to dream. He shared:

“The morality of a middle-class man differs from that of a wealthy man, just as it differs from that of a poor man. Brij wants to challenge this notion. He wants to ask: if a man of means is permitted to dream, why shouldn’t a man like him be allowed to do the same? If a wealthy man can gamble with his destiny, why can’t he?”

Later, in a chat with IANS, Vijay Varma also opened up about the intense use of vintage cars in the series, Vijay stated that there are multiple car racing scenes. During the same, he also took photos of a few cars and met the person who was collecting them. In his words:

“There are a lot of scenes of the race course. There were some very fancy cars in the race course. So, I went and clicked photos of the cars. I asked, where can I see them? The owner came, he was a very distinguished gentleman, who has been collecting cars. There are people who are car enthusiasts who have been saving, restoring these old cars, which are around for like 100 years. Finding parts for them, importing parts from Germany, from somewhere, they take care of it.”
