Fans have been left devastated and ‘scared’ after One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson unfollowed Zayn Malik on social media.

After reports emerged that One Direction stars Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik had a bust-up during filming of their Netflix documentary, fans were hoping that things would soon sort itself out and the pair would reunite. But now it looks as though the hatchet is far from being buried as Louis, 34, has unfollowed Zayn on social media.

This is a clear indication that their feud shows little sign of mending anytime soon. The recent action has now sparked a huge debate among One Direction fans who appear confused and distraught. Taking to X, one person asked: “Why would Louis unfollow today and not in December?”

Another added: “It’s his way of confirming that the story is true.” Meanwhile a third person penned: “What the f*** is happening? NOT AGAIN?” And jumping in on the discussion thread a fourth fan explained: “Maybe because he waited for it to come out like that. But it just is so wild.”

Hoping it was simply a joke to generate interest of the docuseries, another said: “This is a joke right???” But it looks as though any breakdown among the former bandmates is proving to be devastating for some. One person wrote: “I’m so scared right now.”

The documentary was meant to be about Zayn and Louis bonding over their memories of their meteoric rise to fame. But it soon spiralled out of control leaving Louis with cuts and concussion.

The insider claimed to The Sun that Louis was stunned and in shock over a comment made by Zayn, and was attacked when he tried to move. “Zayn punched him straight in the face,” the source went on to claim.

Soon after the alleged attack, Louis left America to return to the UK and Zayn went back to his fam in Pennsylvania. According to reports the pair have not spoken in six months.

Netflix has now cancelled all plans to continue with the documentary. Since news of the fight emerged Louis’ sisters have also unfollowed Zayn but are still connected to Harry Styles and Niall Horan.

Earlier this week Zayn shared a picture of himself hooked up to machine while lying in a hospital bed. He told fans: “To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always – it’s been a long week and I’m still unexpectedly recovering.”

He added: “Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.”

The father of one continued: “Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologists, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends!”
