Furthermore, Julia also hosts a podcast in French and is the writer of a blog titled Julia BNL. As per her blog, Julia is from Paris.

For her day job, Julia Bonilla works as an artistic director and agent. In addition, she hosts a podcast called Journey and runs her blog, Julia BNL. In one of the videos that she has previously posted, Julia opened up about how, since her main job is out of the limelight, she would like to take the opportunity to use her platform to highlight her own musings on life. Referring to her podcast and blog, during a February 2023 episode, Julia said, “I really wanted to speak without filters. Talking about the struggles, the good times, the highs and lows to be able to touch the maximum number of people.”  

Julia Bonilla and Rudy Gobert went public with their relationship when they announced they were expecting  It was in February 2024 that Rudy Gobert revealed that he and Julia were expecting their first child together. For those unaware, this was the first time that the Timberwolves star had publicly announced his relationship with Julia or addressed it online. Taking to his Instagram handle, Rudy posted a sweet photo of his hand on Julia’s growing pregnant belly and kissing her stomach. In the caption, he wrote, “Legacy,” followed by a prayer hand, red heart, and dragon emoji.

Back in April 2024, The Athletic published its anonymous poll. In it, 142 players answered several superlative questions, among which one was “Who’s the league’s most overrated player?” In response to this question, the outlet reported that 13.6% of players had voted for Rudy for the title. 

The result severely disappointed Rudy’s then-girlfriend, Julia. Taking to her Instagram handle, she wrote that Rudy “deserves all the respect” for his work. According to TMZ, Julia further stated at the time: “It’s hard for me to stay quiet in front of so much stupidity, disrespect and nonsense,” she wrote, per TMZ. “I am so proud of the person he is — fair, a great teammate, with a good heart and a strong mind. I am proud of you, and our son is proud of you.”

Julia Bonilla and Rudy Gobert welcomed their first child, a son named Romeo, on May 6, 2024. However, what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of their lives was, to a certain extent, marred by Rudy once again being on the receiving end of criticism. For those unaware, on the day Romeo was born, Rudy was supposed to appear for a Timberwolves playoff game. However, he chose to sit out and remain by Julia’s side instead. 

The match in question was Game 2 of the Timberwolves’ second-round matchup against the Denver Nuggets. With Rudy being a no-show for the match, he was mocked by some of his peers, including former NBA player, Gilbert Arenas. Right before the game, in his YouTube series, Gil’s Arena, Gilbert said that it’s just a baby and that it’ll be there when Rudy gets back. He added, “I’m just saying, the baby, whatever you think you about to do, he’s going to be asleep.”

It was in May 2025 that Julia and Rudy confirmed that they had broken up. On May 17, 2025, Rudy took to his Instagram Stories to say that there had been a lot of misinformation out there. He said that he and Julia are in “the painful process of redefining our co-parenting relationship.” According to Rudy, being a father is one of the most profound and meaningful [experiences] he will ever get to live. Calling it one of his most important life purposes, the Timberwolves star said he is fully committed to continuing to support the well-being of all the people he cares about. It is worth noting that at the time of their breakup, Julia was pregnant with their second child. 

Julia gave her own statement on her Instagram handle. She reportedly called the breakup “one of the most painful times in my life.” She noted that she had never been unfaithful to the father of her children, referring to Rudy. Julia further wrote: 

“I considered Rudy the love of my life. I left everything for him. I gave him a child and poured my heart into our relationship. When everyone criticised him and insulted him, I stood by him, always putting him first and choosing him, always. Despite how I have been treated, I choose to protect his name for the sake of my children.”
