Mangli has landed in controversy after a complaint was reportedly submitted to the Telugu Film Producers Council, urging producers to stop offering her playback opportunities until allegations against her are cleared.
Sampath Naik, who represents Banjara Community and also member of the Telangana Movie Artists Association, stated that a representation has been made requesting a temporary ban. According to him, a case has been registered at Panjagutta Police Station, and Mangli has reportedly been named among the accused in what is being described as a microfinance-related scam.
He further added that many of the alleged victims belong to the Banjara community and emphasized that until her name is cleared, producers should refrain from working with her. Drawing a comparison, he said that government officials are often suspended during investigations, and a similar approach should be considered in this case.
However, sources from the Telugu Film Producers Council confirmed that they have received the complaint and are currently examining the matter. While no official decision has been taken, there is speculation that some producers may choose to distance themselves from her projects temporarily due to the ongoing controversy.
Mangli has carved a strong niche in Telugu cinema with several popular tracks like Saranga Dariya, Ramulo Ramula, Zinthak, Jwala Reddy, and Ooru Palletooru. Her independent tracks such as Rela Re Rela Ra and Bayilone Balipalike have also earned her a massive fan base across Telugu-speaking regions.
Industry insiders point out that she reportedly charges between ₹50,000 and ₹60,000 per song, making her one of the prominent voices in the industry. They also note that any unofficial ban or reduced opportunities could impact not just her film career but also the popularity of her independent music.
As of now, no formal action has been announced. The situation is expected to evolve based on the outcome of the investigation and the Producers Council’s decision.
