EastEnders legend Samantha Womack has hinted that she may be a single woman again after a cryptic post in which she wrote, ‘Alone again’ got fans talking

EastEnders legend Samantha Womack has dropped what looks to be a major hint that she has split from her man – Emmerdale star Oliver Farnworth, with a telling snap.

The actress, famed for playing Ronnie Mitchell in the BBC soap, was all smiles in the selfie she shared on social media in what looked like a hot tub. She captioned the image with the loaded words, “Alone again… Naturally” alongside a shushing emoji.

Her close pal and former EastEnders co-star Rita Simons posted underneath: “Obv Love u [heart emoji].”, to which Sam replied: “I’ve got you though……. [kiss emojis].” Rita, who played her on-screen sister Roxy, answered, “always [heart emoji].”

Other famous faces commented with words of support for the xxx, including another former EastEnders star Ricky Norwood, who wrote, “Sending you big [heart] x.”, while Steps’ Faye Tozer said: “Love you x.”

Sam started dating fellow actor Oliver, 43, who played Dales killer John Sugden and previously had a stint as Andy Carver in Coronation Street, since 2021 following the breakdown of her marriage to actor Mark Womack, 65.

Samantha and Mark got married in 2009 after ten years together, and share two children, Benjamin and Lili-Rose.They separated in 2018, but co-parent happily and remain good friends, Mark revealing he was happy for his ex when she found love again with Oliver.

In an interview in 2022, she said: “Mark and I raised a family really well, so we agreed that we didn’t mind separating in terms of a traditional marriage, but actually I would really have suffered if we hadn’t maintained a friendship, because that was part of my life for 20 years.

“We speak to each other two or three times a day, Mark will say, ‘Can I pop round next week – can you have the two Chihuahuas?’ and I’ll say, ‘Yeah, but can you have the cat next week?'”

She also said Mark and her boyfriend were on great terms. “Mark and Ollie are really friendly and the kids love having all of us; we’re a blended family.

In 2024, Oliver told the Mirror that he and ex-Emmerdale star Mark were best mates, and it was actually down to his girlfriend’s ex that he went for his role in the Dales.

He said at the time, “”I remember [Mark] saying when he was filming, that it’s such a gorgeous place to work – it’s really, really brilliant. So when this came along, I was excited. And it is great. He said to me, ‘I told you so’ and I said, ‘You did.'”

Sam met Oliver when they were both starring in the 2019 stage adaptation of thriller The Girl On The Train.
