Hyderabad:The GHMC urged residents to dispose of e-waste as per norms and not throw them in the dustbin. In an advisory, the corporation urged resident to place a small bag, box, or bin at a visible place— near the TV unit, study table, or kitchen shelf, and label it as ‘e-waste’. Every time a charger stops working, a battery dies, or a person upgrades a device or any electrical equipment needs to be disposed of, it should be placed into container and not the dustbin. This can be emptied monthly or whenever convenient by contacting the corporation on 040 21111111 or when special drives are held, according to a statement.

Speed Up Voter Revision in GHMC, Rangareddy and Medchal: CEO C. Sudharsan Reddy

Hyderabad:Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy on Monday directed officials to complete voter mapping under the special intensive revision (SIR) by the end of this month, with focus on urban areas. He said women voters below 40 years should be mapped to their parents and asked officials to involve residential associations and gated communities in the exercise.

Chairing a video conference with district election officers (DEOs) and electoral registration officers (EROs), the CEO reviewed the status of voter mapping and asked officials to speed up the process, particularly in urban pockets with high migrant population, including GHMC, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.

Officials including booth level officer supervisors were directed to visit gated communities and slum areas for mapping, and conduct large-scale awareness campaigns through Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities. The CEO also instructed regular field visits in leftover areas and setting up help desks at DEO, ERO and AERO offices.

Senior officials including Additional CEO Dr V. Venkateswar Reddy and GHMC Commissioner attended the meeting.
