TOWIE star Jordan Wright’s cause of death is yet to be made public with vital information still to be heard from a toxicology report taken in Thailand
Former The Only Way Is Essex cast member Jordan Wright was found dead in a drainage ditch in Thailand, an inquest heard.
The 33-year-old, of Stanford-le-Hope in Essex, was found on March 14 this year in Phuket province and his death was later confirmed, a hearing in Chelmsford was told on Tuesday. His death came just weeks after he’d moved to the popular tourist destination for a new start.
Court co-ordinator Matthew Austin told the inquest that Wright “was discovered in a drainage ditch”. He was found in a drainage ditch off Bang Thao 2 Alley, Choeng Thale sub-district, Thalang district, Phuket province, the inquest heard.
The reality star was repatriated to Essex and a post-mortem examination was conducted at Basildon Hospital. His cause of death is yet to be recorded with toxicology results from Thailand still waiting to be heard.
Before his death, Jordan had given his social media followers a glimpse into his dream life abroad as relocated overseas to make a fresh start.
He posted a collection of of sun-soaked snaps and videos embracing his time in Phuket before tragedy struck. He shared pictures of himself supping champagne in an infinity pool, scuba diving and smiling while riding a motorbike, alongside the caption ‘Home.’
Just weeks after Jordan’s move, he was found dead. A spokesperson for Towie said in a statement at the time “Everyone at Towie sends their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jordan Wright at this very sad time.”
Tributes were also paid in the comment section of Wright’s last Instagram post, including from fellow Towie star Chloe Brockett, who wrote: “Rest in peace Jordan.”
Liam “Gatsby” Blackwell, who also appeared on the reality programme, added: “Miss you already, brother.
“Glad I got to see you in Thailand a couple of months ago. Big love to all your Family.”
A spokesperson from the UK Foreign Office said at the time: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Thailand and are in contact with the local authorities.”
