Vijayawada:Niti Aayog has in its Divya-Bharat report recommended that people must visit Andhra Pradesh in southern India to enjoy its delightful mix of heritage, nature and spirituality.
The report mentions AP’s serene beaches along the Bay of Bengal to picturesque hill stations and lush green valleys, saying the state has something for every traveller. It laid emphasis on AP’s ancient temples, historic forts, and architectural wonders, reflecting its rich heritage and traditions.
Moreover, the Niti Aayog says the state is famous for its delicious cuisine, colourful festivals and warm hospitality, making every visitor feel welcomed. The report mentioned that the state is home to vibrant wildlife, scenic riverbanks and bustling markets that showcase local crafts and culture.
It mentioned that AP provides a memorable journey whether one seeks spiritual experience, adventure or relaxation. The state captures the heart and leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.
The report mentioned Araku Valley, Lambasingi, Maredumilli Forest, Papi Hills, Talakona Waterfalls, Pulicat Lake, Sri Venkateswara National Park, Horsley Hills, Coringa Mangroves, Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary, Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary, Borra Caves, Anantagiri Hills, Suryalanka Beach, Gandikota Gorge, Kondapalli Reserve Forest, Orvakal Rock Garden, Uppapadu Bird Sanctuary, Kurupam Forest Area, Rushikonda Beach, Papikondalu Boat Cruise, Nallamala Hills, Kondapalli Fort, Kothapatnam Beach, Bavikonda Buddhist Site, Lapakshi. With regard to pilgrimage tourism, the Niti Aayog mentioned Simhachalam Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Kanaka Durga Temple, Mahanandi Temple, Jewett Memorial Baptist Church, Yaganti Temple, Chebrole Church, Ahobilam Narasimham Swamy Temple, Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, and Mallikarjuna Swamy, among others.
On culture and cuisines, the report referred to Tirupati Brahmotsavam, Lumbini Festival, Rayalseema Food and Dance Festival, Andhra Chicken Curry, Chepala Pulusu, Pesarattu, Gongura Pachadi, Bobbatlu, Pulihora, Gutti Vankayalapati, Ulavacharu and Andhra / Vijayawada Biryani.
Among the fabrics mentioned are Kalamkari, Mangalagiri sarees, Venkatagiri Sarees, Dharmavaram sarees, Uppada Jamdani and others.
The report said the peak season to be in AP is from October to February, when the atmosphere is cool and pleasant and is ideal for heritage tours, festivals and coastal exploration.
Speaking about the Niti Aayog report, Tourism and Culture minister Kandula Durgesh said AP is already on the world tourism map due to the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and ideas of Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan. Durgesh said with support from the central government, AP would become the number one state in the country by 2030.
