Denise Richards shares heartbreaking tribute after death of ex Patrick Muldoon aged 57

The former Bond girl and reality star revealed she is ‘deeply heartbroken and devastated’ over the loss of her ex, who her daughters ‘begged’ her to get back together with.

Denise Richards has paid a moving tribute to her former boyfriend Patrick Muldoon following his sudden death at the age of 57.

The actor, best known for roles in Starship Troopers, Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place, died on Sunday, with reports suggesting he suffered a heart attack.

Richards, 55, dated Muldoon for five years after the pair met in an acting class and later worked together on Starship Troopers but remained close friends following the their split, with the actor later appearing on her reality TV shows.

Breaking her silence on Instagram, Richards shared a series of photos and videos of the pair together, alongside a deeply personal tribute.

She wrote: “This is so hard for me to put into words. I am deeply heartbroken & devastated losing you. You were my best friend & my family.

“We met in our first acting class, I was 19 never had an acting job and you were 21 a student at USC doing a recurring role on who’s the boss. And here we are. 36 years later. My whole adult life & I don’t know it without you. The friendship, love, support, respect & loyalty we had was unconditional and rare.

“You lit up every room you walked into. You are larger than life & Everyone was drawn to you. So talented & most underrated actor. And most humble. Everything you did was infectious. Your laugh, your kindness, your wit, your strength, your loyalty, your passion, and your zest for life.

“We’ve been each other’s rock. Our memories together are endless. You’ve had my back and protected me more than anyone. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you here. You’re my voice of reason & pillar of strength. Especially during this last year of pain & heartache. And now I need you more than ever, for this pain and heartache losing you.…

“We thought we’d live forever or at least into our 90’s. Schweetbabe I will be looking for those signs. I need to know you’re still here with me. I love you so much & miss you dearly schweetbabe.”

Tributes have also come from those close to Richards, including her daughters Sami and Lola Sheen, whose father is Charlie Sheen.

Lola, 20, replied to her mum’s message, writing, “This is so beautiful mom, I am so so sorry. I love you so much, you guys are endgame forever.” She then shared her own message on social media, describing Muldoon as a “huge part of our family”.

She reflected, “I thought you were the one that was supposed be in our lives forever, when I think of my childhood I think of you Pat… Thank you for showing everyone around you how to be alive.

“I always begged my mom, I’m sure she told you, that you guys would end up back together haha, but i guess staying best friends was better anyways.”

Muldoon’s death has sent shockwaves through Hollywood, with fans and colleagues paying tribute to the actor’s long career and lasting friendships.

According to US reports, his girlfriend found him unconscious at his home after going to shower, with paramedics unable to revive him.
