Nita Ambani is one of the most powerful businesswomen, who has made a name for herself with her hard work. Apart from her work, Nita is hailed for her fashion choices and for promoting the cultural heritage of India. Her recent appearance at the TIME 100 Summit is proof of how she is proud of the Indian weaves and textiles.
Nita Ambani stunned in a Jamdani saree
For the Summit, Nita Ambani draped herself in a cream-coloured Jamdani saree. It was a piece of Bengal’s textile heritage, featuring tribal motifs. Decked in an intricate meenakari work, the saree was woven over two years by Padma Shri awardee Biren Kumar Basak in Phulia, West Bengal. The six yards of pure grace had fish borders and an elaborate pallu with details of ceremonial scenes, human forms, animals, and foliage.

The figurative storytelling and auspicious fish border motifs are a symbol of prosperity and good fortune. The motifs are picked out in pink, green and soft blue. Just like her love for Indian traditions and storytelling, Nita Amabni’s Jamdani saree is an ode to a rare heirloom. She complemented her unique saree with a sheer blouse.

Nita Ambani chose precious pearls to complement her look

Pearl and emerald bangles and a huge diamond ring rounded off her look for the event. With her centre-parted hair, Nita opted for smoky eyes, green-coloured bindi, tinted cheeks, glossy mauve pink lip shade.
