A smiling Stacey Solomon was clearly putting recent dramas behind her as she was seen chatting happily to a pal in the street, as filming commenced for the new series of Stacey & Joe

Stacey Solomon was putting on a brave face on Thursday morning, as she returned to work amid swirling rumours about her relationship with Joe Swash.

The TV favourite was spotted flashing a smile despite reports that she and her husband of almost four years had hit a rocky patch – and shock claims the pair were never officially married.

Stacey, 34, looked in good spirits as she strolled through Scotts Tulip Farm in Brentwood alongside her best pal, Emma Parr. Dressed casually, the mum-of-five appeared happy and animated as she chatted away to her friend.

It was confirmed last week – despite rumours that their show had been cancelled – that fly-on-the-wall show Stacey & Joe had been renewed for a third series by the BBC, with cameras returning to Pickle Cottage for more family drama.

As in the previous two series’, series three will give viewers an insight into the pair’s hectic work and family lives, as Joe attempts to make his dream come true of building a fishing lake and glamping site on the grounds of their £1.2m Tudor-style Essex home, Pickle Cottage.

The BBC say of the upcoming show: ‘With five children at home, a menagerie of animals and a house that’s always full, viewers are once again immersed in the couple’s relatable, hands-on approach to parenting, homemaking and life.

“This time however, that family dynamic expands beyond the cottage gates, as Joe finally takes the leap to realise a long-held dream: opening his own fishing lake and glamping site. What begins as Joe’s personal passion quickly becomes a full family endeavour, naturally drawing in Stacey’s creativity, the kids’ energy and the wider family’s support.

“Joe hopes the lake can be more than just a business. Having always found fishing to be a form of therapy, he’s passionate about creating a space where young people – particularly teenagers struggling with ADHD or mental health challenges – can come and spend time by the water”.

Stacey and Joe said of the new three-episode season: “If you watched the first series, you’ll know we’ve been talking about the lakes for ages… it feels a bit surreal to finally see it coming to life.

“With the juggle of family life thrown in, we’re learning as we go, so we’ll be just as surprised as everyone else to see how it all unfolds! A huge thank you to everyone who has watched Stacey & Joe so far. We’re so grateful and can’t wait for you to see this next series.”

The news of a new series in the works comes after a turbulent time for the couple. They have had to see off rumours that there were cracks in their marriage, particular after Stacey was seen without her wedding ring.

But the former X Factor star brushed it all off during a chat with Cat and Ben on This Morning, saying: “There’s a new rumour each week. I’m terrible. I don’t read any of that stuff.”

She added: “Have I not been wearing my ring? I probably took it off to go to the toilet or something, I don’t know!”

Stacey and former EastEnders star Joe, who started dating in 2016, got married on the grounds of their idyllic cottage in July 2022, share six-year-old Rex, four-year-old Rose, and three-year-old Belle.

Stacey is also mum to 18-year-old Zachary and 13-year-old Leighton from a past relationship, while Joe also has a 17-year-old son, Harry.

But fans were also reeling when it emerged earlier this month claiming that, despite throwing a lavish wedding ceremony with a star-studded guestlist, their ceremony was not legally binding, as their home was not a licensed venue, and they have not yet completed the legal paperwork to formalize the union, claiming it’s down to a busy family life.

In the run-up to their big day, Stacey answered fans’ questions on social media, revealing, “”To get married anywhere legally, the place has to have a ‘civil ceremony’ licence. One of the requirements for this license is that the premises must be made ‘readily available’ for ceremonies.

“As this is our private family home and we need it to remain that way we couldn’t go for that option. So we are having a relaxed private blessing in front of our closest friends and family and a ceremony of our love to each other and we will register our marriage legally after… Hope that helps.”
