Juan Soto remains the $765M backdrop as Mets finally win a game

It happened.

The Mets ended their seemingly never-ending 12-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 3-2 win over the Twins at Citi Field, extinguishing the franchise’s worst skid since 2002.

Welcoming back Juan Soto for his first game in nearly three weeks — the slugger with baseball’s richest deal went 1-for-3 with a walk, a caught stealing and bullets for both of his outs as the DH — the Mets received the go-ahead RBI from Mark Vientos and clutch relief pitching from Luke Weaver in place of Devin Williams.

But because it’s the Mets, the victory also came with a sense of alarm: Francisco Lindor exited in the fifth inning due to “left calf tightness.”
