Vijayawada: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) on Friday reviewed the progress of works being executed under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation limits and directed officials to expedite completion for early public use.
MoHUA deputy secretary Grace Lalrindiki Pachua conducted a field inspection of an Elevated Service Level Reservoir (ESLR) under construction at Sri Kanakadurga Nagar, a key component of the city’s drinking water supply network.
Earlier, she chaired a review meeting at the Andhra Pradesh Urban Finance Infrastructure Development Corporation office in Rayapudi. The meeting was attended by officials of the corporation, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation chief engineer (in-charge) P. Satyakumari and engineering staff. Progress of ongoing works, timelines and implementation issues were reviewed.
Later, Pachua inspected another ESLR facility under construction at Sri Kanakadurga Colony and instructed officials to speed up execution of all AMRUT 2.0 projects.
She expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far and stressed the need to maintain quality standards while adhering to deadlines.
Senior officials, including APUFIDC superintending engineer N.V. Rao, PDMC team leader T. Anjaneyulu and executive engineer G. Samrajyam, were present.
