According to reports, it was Carrie Underwood’s bassist, Mark Childers, who attempted to set her up with his friend, Mike Fisher. While Carrie almost refused Mark’s offers, she ended up agreeing eventually. Carrie and the former Ottawa Senators hockey player met for the first time at a backstage meet-and-greet following one of her concerts in 2008. Their connection proved successful, especially when it came to physical attraction. Recalling her first impression of Mike at the time, Carrie simply said, “Hot, hot, hot.”

Awesome.” In the middle of 2008, the pair began long-distance dating. They would mostly talk to each other over the phone before reuniting in person, three years later.

Almost two years after Carrie and Mike began dating, the couple tied the knot on July 10, 2010, at the Ritz- Carlton resort on Lake Oconee, Georgia. According to their wedding planner, Mike and Carrie shared “a spiritual expression of their love,” which is a special moment for a “very special couple.”

It was on February 25, 2015, that Mike and Carrie embraced parenthood for the first time, 5 years after their marriage. The duo lovingly named their son, Isaiah. According to a People report, Isaiah has often joins Carrie backstage at her shows, and he enjoys yoga. Additionally, he also loves spending quality time with his dad. While talking about Mike and his role as a father, Carrie told E! News:

Carrie and Mike celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on July 10, 2018. Just a month after that, in August of the same year, Carrie shared that she and Mike were expecting their second child. After sharing the big news, the singer took to her Instagram handle to show her followers a glimpse of her baby bump in a snap taken backstage at the Grand Ole Opry. Prior to this, Carrie posted a video on her IG in which she can be heard saying, “You might be wondering or asking, ‘Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?’ Well…yay!” She went on to unveil a set of balloons which spelt “BABY”.

On January 21, 2019, Carrie revealed on Instagram that she and Mike had welcomed their second son, named Jacob Bryan Fisher. Posting a photo gallery of herself, Mike, Isaiah, and Jacob, Carrie wrote:

“Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday…his mom, dad and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle! Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired, and our lives are forever changed. Life is good.”

As of April 2026, Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, have continued to maintain a happy married life with their family.
