Nellore:In a major relief to residents, the long-pending dotted lands issue in Vengalrao Nagar of Kavali has been resolved, benefiting nearly 2,000 families and bringing celebrations to the area.

District collector Himanshu Shukla, who visited Kavali on Monday along with MLA Dagumati Venkata Krishna Reddy, said resolving the decades-old issue within 24 hours of it being brought to his notice gave him immense satisfaction. He credited coordinated efforts by officials, particularly Joint Collector Venkateswarlu, for the swift solution.

The collector said around 190 acres of disputed land had now been cleared, enabling residents to legally register their properties and access loans for education and other needs. He assured that similar land issues elsewhere in the district would also be addressed quickly if brought to his notice.

MLA Krishna Reddy hailed the move, saying determined officials could solve even complex problems. He said many families had suffered for decades without ownership rights.

He added that Kavali was poised for rapid growth, with projects such as BPCL, Indos Industries and the proposed airport at Damavaram expected to create jobs and boost development.

Beneficiaries were handed official proceedings, while locals felicitated the Collector and officials. Earlier, the Collector reviewed railway underpass works and laid the foundation stone for a ₹1 crore cement road project.
