According to a report by Hindustan Times, Cole’s mom, Kathy, worked as a teacher, and his father, Thomas, served as a church leader. The couple has raised their four children, Cole, Avriana, Gabriel and Stephanie.

Ever since the White House press dinner shooting incident, Cole has been identified as the suspect people raised eyebrows about his upbringing. However, according to the neighbours’ version, the reality is different. Rosalia Hernandez, a former neighbour, told Daily Mail that she knew Cole as a charming boy from age 3 who hails from a well-adjusted family. Rosalia mentioned that although she knew Cole and his family, she hadn’t spoken to him in years. Family friend, Shannon McKinney, told Daily Mail that Cole belonged to “a loving, two-parent family.”

On April 26, 2026, one resident, Paul Thompson, told KTLA that Cole’s parents are well-regarded in their community. He shared that although he hadn’t interacted with Cole ever, he had been friends with his parents, Kathy and Thomas. Paul also reacted to the White House dinner shooting incident. “I haven’t had any interactions with [Cole Allen] but his parents, I’m friends with. I’m friends with his dad. They are very solid people, peaceful…good people in the community. It was pretty wild…you don’t expect that kind of thing to happen on your street. It’s a very peaceful street…lots of kids playing in the evenings and lots of families. We were at a neighbour’s house, so we couldn’t actually get back to our house for a little while, but eventually, they let us back in.”

According to a LinkedIn report, Cole is a trained engineer. The report claims that Cole graduated in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 2017. In December 2024, Cole was named Teacher of the Month at C2 Education, a recognition typically reserved for standout instructors.

Cole’s youngest sister, Stephanie, is now in her 20s. A few years ago, she was an undergraduate student at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont. Cole’s brother, Gabriel, is pursuing his studies in naval architecture and marine engineering at a renowned college, Webb Institute in New York. He moved to New London, Connecticut, approximately in 2024 and has been living there with his wife, Ashley.
