At just 24, Kashish Methwani has shown that ambition does not have to fit into a single mould. From winning the title of Miss International India to securing All India Rank 2 in the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination, her journey is one of determination, discipline and daring to dream beyond convention.
Born into a Sindhi family in Ulhasnagar, Mumbai, Kashish grew up in an environment that valued both intellect and service. Her father worked as a scientist, while her mother was a teacher at an Army Public School. It was perhaps this blend of academic rigour and the spirit of service that shaped her early years.
From a young age, Kashish stood out. Whether it was excelling in Bharatanatyam, participating in debates, or maintaining strong academic performance, she approached every pursuit with equal commitment. She later pursued a Master’s degree in Biotechnology and conducted neuroscience research at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.
Yet, alongside her academic journey, she carried another dream since childhood — to become Miss India.
In 2023, that dream came true when she won the title of Miss International India, stepping into the spotlight with grace and confidence. For many, that achievement would have marked the pinnacle of success.
But for Kashish, it was only one chapter.
There was another calling she could not ignore — serving the nation. In 2024, she appeared for the CDS examination, one of the country’s most competitive defence entrance tests, and secured an extraordinary All India Rank 2.
Her transition from pageantry to public service challenges narrow ideas of what success should look like. Kashish did not choose between glamour and grit, between beauty and bravery. She chose both.
